Mezze penne rigate Barilla n°70 are a short, dynamic pasta shape that adapts naturally to both traditional recipes and more creative combinations. The ridged surface helps the sauce cling to the pasta, while its full-bodied structure gives it a balanced thickness and a pleasant texture on the palate. Their versatility ranges from rich, flavourful sauces with pancetta, pecorino and pepper to Mediterranean-style preparations with aubergines, cherry tomatoes and capers, as well as vegetable-based sauces, creamy sauces and other interpretations by the chef. The careful selection of premium durum wheat milled in Italy contributes to a pasta with a texture suited to the demands of professional foodservice. Cooking time: 11 minutes; for every 100 g of pasta, approximately 1 litre of water and 7 g of salt are recommended. Alternatively, passive cooking can be used: after 2 minutes of active cooking, turn off the heat, cover the pot with a lid and allow the heat of the water to complete the cooking for the required time.
