Orobica Food is one of the most well-known food products suppliers in Italy and abroad. We are constantly looking for new products to satisfy even the most demanding palates. Our numerous certifications and awards prove that we are on the right path, a path that we chose at the beginning of the 21st century: this is our story.
In 2002, after several work experiences in sales and in food production sectors, the Locatelli family founded “Orobica Food S.r.l.”, a young and dynamic company that works in distribution of typical and fresh Italian products for the hospitality sector.
In 2004, Orobica Food, ever-growing, increased the variety of its articles and started using vendors.
In 2006, the company was moved to Chiuduno into bigger headquarters, which allow for more growth, a bigger presence in the Bergamo and Brescia areas, and a better chance to spread to other provinces in the Lombardy region. A true north star of food wholesalers in Bergamo.
In 2009, Orobica Food started exporting to some European countries and added frozen food products to their selection.
In 2010, the company kept expanding, it underwent a renovation process and, to ensure a better operational and sales management, it started using packing lists.
In 2012, the company opened up a tasting room in their headquarters. The tasting room was designed for the clients and to organise training courses for restaurant managers. In the same year, the company inaugurated a showroom and a retail store.
The company website got a revamp and started selling Orobica Food excellence products.
The company started following the Work Safety Management System to ensure the safety and health of their collaborators (one of the pillars that the foundation of strategic business choices lies on).
Orobica was certified ISO 9001:2008, which meant that the company could provide an even more attentive service to clients, focusing on their satisfaction. The company also bought a new warehouse.
Orobica expanded its number of employees and started collaborating with professionals ready to develop shared projects. It started automating its warehouse and started a restyling process, creating a brand to encompass its most excellent products. In 2017 Orobica continued to grow.
the retail space, offices, tasting room and showroom were renovated and expanded. The restyling continued with the selection of suppliers, products excellences and their branding. The company also obtains the ISO 9001:2015 certification (Quality Management System).
In 2019 Orobica Food's web presence was expanded with a new website and the creation of a company app to provide support to the consultant’s sales activity, where the best products are displayed to offer customers a safe and guaranteed choice in value.
During 2021 and 2022, Orobica created two e-commerce: one dedicated to the sale of Ho.re.ca. products for and one for the sale of typical Italian products to private customers; an institutional blog was also developed.
